Janice Mitchell has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Janice started their career as a Financial Analyst at General Motors-Delco Electronics in 1991. From there, they worked as a Financial Planner at Capital Planning before joining Asset Forwarding Corp as the Vice President of Finance and Operations. In 2009, they became the Administrator-Chief Financial Officer at the City of Indianapolis, specifically in the Department of Code Enforcement. In 2012, they took on the role of Assistant Director of Auxiliary Accounting at Indiana University School of Medicine, before returning to the City of Indianapolis as the Deputy Controller/Budget Director. Janice then held a series of CFO positions within different departments of the City of Indianapolis, including the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Department of Public Works, and the Information Services Agency. Janice Mitchell is currently the Chief Financial Officer at the City of Ocala, a position they have held since 2023.
Janice Mitchell obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Business Analysis from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business. Janice was enrolled in the program from 1986 to 1990.
