Kellie Purce Braseth has a diverse range of work experience in the field of communications and public relations. Kellie Purce began their career in 1991 as a Technical Writer at the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, where they were responsible for writing, proofreading, and editing materials for publication. Kellie Purce also compiled and edited a glossary of workers' compensation terms and produced a handbook for attending doctors.
In 1993, Kellie joined the Washington Department of Labor and Industries as a Public Information Officer. In this role, they served as the editor of the agency's internal and external newsletters and was responsible for publishing agency news and information on their electronic bulletin board.
In 1995, Kellie moved on to the South Puget Sound Community College, where they held various leadership positions within the Office of College Relations. As the Associate Director of College Advancement - Media Relations and Communications, they were responsible for internal and external communications for the college and served as the primary contact for news media. Kellie Purce also oversaw the editorial content of all external college publications. Kellie later became the Director of College Relations, where they managed all publications and graphics activities for the college, including advertising and the college's website. Finally, they served as the Dean of College Relations, leading the Office of College Relations and providing executive-level consultation on media relations and messaging.
Most recently, Kellie has been working at the City of Olympia since 2015 as the Strategic Communications Director.
Kellie Purce Braseth pursued their education at Idaho State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Kellie Purce furthered their studies at the same institution, earning a Master of Arts degree in English.
