Robert Smith (Buz)

Robert "Buz" Smith is an experienced professional currently serving as City Commissioner for the City of Paducah, having begun their seventh term in January 2023. Smith has been a Business Analyst and Strategic Planner for the U.S. Department of Energy since October 2008, where responsibilities have included serving as the Federal Coordinator for the Paducah Citizen's Advisory Board and managing various projects, including site-wide environmental assessments. Prior experience includes serving as a City Commissioner for Paducah from January 1997 to October 2008, and holding significant sales and managerial roles at US Foodservice, Alliant Foodservice, and Kraft Foodservice, with a focus on contract management and sales development.
