Dan Joyave currently serves as an Engineering Technician and Construction Inspector at the City of Painesville Engineer's Office since March 2019. Prior to this role, Dan worked at Smolen Engineering, Ltd. as an Engineering Technician, focusing on civil engineering design and project management, particularly in public water and sewer projects. Dan's extensive experience also includes a long tenure at Maryland Environmental Service, where the title transitioned from Engineering Technician II to Survey Technician II, providing land survey services at various sites, as well as working as an Environmental Inspector. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and has an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies from Catonsville Community College.

Settled in 1800, Painesville is the county seat of Lake County, Ohio and is located along the beautiful Grand River, roughly 30 miles northeast of Cleveland.
