Chief Building Official and Code Enforcement Manager at City of Palm Desert

Jason Finley has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jason started their career in 1993 as a Paid Call Firefighter I at the San Bernardino County Fire Department. After that, from 1994 to 1999, they worked as a Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer II at the Town of Yucca Valley. In 1999, they joined the City of Palm Desert and held multiple roles, including Code Enforcement Officer II, Building Inspector II, Supervising Plans Examiner, and currently serves as the Chief Building Official and Code Enforcement Manager, starting from December 2021.

Additionally, Jason gained involvement in professional organizations such as the International Code Council, where they served as a Building Code Action Code Committee Member and Regional Chapter Member, including a two-year presidency in 2009 and 2011. Jason also had the opportunity to contribute to the International Swimming Pool Spa Code as a member of the Hearing Committee. In their earlier years, from 1985 to 1988, they obtained their HS Diploma from Indio High School.
