Mohamed Khalil is an accomplished artist and art educator with extensive experience in the art field. Currently, Mohamed serves as the Founder of Hamilton Mill Gallery since May 2016 and has been recognized as the first Muslim, Arab, Egyptian artist to design the Christmas tree ornament for First Lady Laura Bush in 2008. Additionally, Mohamed has held roles as an artist art curator at The Paterson Museum since May 2005 and as a City Commissioner for the City of Paterson since May 2004. Mohamed also founded Art from the Heart 501c3 in May 2003. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree from Columbia University in 2020, a Master's degree from Accademia d'Egitto di Belle Arti (1992-1995), a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alexandria University (1988-1992), and a Doctor of Arts in Art Studies from Harvard University.

Paterson is known as the "Silk City" for its dominant role in silk production during the later 19th century.
