Melissa Darosa

Melissa DaRosa currently serves as Pawtucket City Councilor At Large since November 2021 and has held the position of VOCA Community Safety Coordinator at the Housing Authority of Providence since January 2019, focusing on domestic violence advocacy and support services. Melissa has extensive experience as a Pawtucket Nonviolence Streetworker and Nonviolence Trainer with the Institute for the Study and Practice of Nonviolence, where responsibilities include conflict mediation and community violence prevention efforts. Additionally, as Executive Director of Knowledge is Power 401, Melissa manages event planning, community organizing, and strategic initiatives. Previous roles include Shift Lead at Crossroads Rhode Island's Harrington Hall Homeless Shelter and coordinator for the FASST Program at AmeriCorps, emphasizing support for at-risk youth. Melissa earned a Bachelor's degree of Science in Community Development and Social Justice Advocacy from Charter Oak State College.
