Mathew Tharakan

Mathew Tharakan currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Development for the City of Philadelphia, where responsibilities include managing monitoring, compliance, auditing departments, and overseeing minority participation in construction contracts for the Division of Housing and Community Development. Prior to this role, Mathew was a Manager at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) from December 1989 to April 2023. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration with a focus on Data Analytics at Grand Canyon University, educational achievements also include a Post-Masters Degree in Computer Programming and Authoring from Philadelphia University, an MBA in Finance from Philadelphia University, a Bachelor's degree in Business Foundation Courses from Philadelphia University, a Bachelor's degree in History & Politics from Loyola College, a Diploma in Electrical Maintenance and Repair Technology from PIUS X INDUSTRIAL CENTER, and a Pre-Degree in Math, Physics, and Chemistry from St. Aloysius College in Edathua.
