Nic James has extensive experience in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Racial Equity Storytelling and Community Impact at the City of Philadelphia. Prior to this role, Nic served as the CEO and Chief Consultant at Comprise DEI Consulting, where they provided bespoke consultancy services to help organizations achieve their diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. They also have experience in the education sector, having held leadership positions at Musicopia, Delaware Valley Friends School, The Crefeld School, Friends Select School, and The Philadelphia School. Nic's roles in these schools included Director of Communications, Strategy, and People, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Assistant Head of School, and Middle School Dean. Their earlier experience includes working as a Middle School Language Arts Teacher at The Philadelphia School.

Nic James obtained a Master of Science in Education degree, specializing in School Leadership, from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education during the period of 2011-2012.
