Senior Director Creative Economy Initiatives at City of Philadelphia

Sophie Heng has a diverse range of work experience. Sophie started their career in 2004 as a Sales Support at Robert Half International and worked there until 2010. In 2008, they started their own photography business called Sophie Heng Photography. From 2010 to 2015, they served as an Administrative Assistant Office Manager at Universal Bluford Universal Companies and also worked as an Americorps Member at EducationWorks during the same period. In 2012, Sophie became a Writer and started their own venture. Additionally, they worked as a Positive Image Girls Mentoring Facilitator at Police Athletic League Philadelphia from 2012 to 2015. Most recently, Sophie has been involved in business development roles for the City of Philadelphia, starting as an Executive Assistant and progressing to Senior Manager and Director positions in the Creative Economy and Keystone Opportunity Zone.

Sophie Heng attended La Salle University from 2012 to 2017, majoring in Social Work. Prior to that, they studied at The PJA School from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained an ASB degree in Paralegal. Additionally, in 2013, Sophie obtained a certification in 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training from the Lutheran Settlement House- Jane Addams Place.
