Carol Hu

Carol (Shixue) Hu serves as the Vice President of Enterprise Solutions, Strategy, and Senior Director of Business & Industry Strategy at the Greater Phoenix Economic Council since July 2018, focusing on regional development strategies and cross-departmental automation. In addition, Carol holds positions as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Phoenix and was a Director at Large for the Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association until December 2023. Previous experience includes serving as Vice Chair of the Neighborhood Advisory Commission and Sustainability Commissioner for the City of Tempe, and as an Economic Development Specialist/Planner for the City of Glendale. Carol has a robust planning background from Maricopa County Planning and Development and has held roles in research and web design early in the career. Academic credentials include a Master's in Urban and Environmental Planning from Arizona State University and currently pursuing an MBA at the Yale School of Management.
