Ali R. Abdullah, M.Ed., currently serves as the Commissioner of the Civic Design Commission for the City of Pittsburgh, where responsibilities include reviewing and approving designs for new and modified structures in the Public Realm. In addition to this position, Abdullah is a member of the Friends of PERU at the University of Pittsburgh, contributing to program evaluation and research within the School of Pharmacy. Since March 2013, Abdullah has worked as the Disability Compliance Administrator for the Housing Authority City of Pittsburgh, overseeing activities related to disability compliance under various federal regulations. Previous experience includes serving as the Project Manager for the SOAR Initiative at AHCI/MHAAC, providing support to individuals with mental disabilities facing homelessness. Abdullah holds a Master’s in Education from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pittsburgh, alongside specialized training in donor stewardship through the Emerging Directors of Development program.
