Michael Charnin

Michael Charnin currently serves as the Assistant Building Official and Chief Mechanical Inspector and Plans Examiner for the City of Plantation since January 2006. Prior to this role, Michael worked as a Mechanical Inspector at the Miami Dade Building Department from 2004 to 2006, focusing on code enforcement and hurricane response. Michael owns True Blue Cooling Inc., a business dedicated to air conditioning, refrigeration, and commercial food processing equipment service, which operated from 1996 to 2004. Earlier in his career, Michael served as a Plant Maintenance Supervisor at Penn Dutch Meats from 1980 to 1996, overseeing safety, environmental quality control, and machinery expansions. Additionally, Michael was a United States Army Reservist from 1979 to 1982 and served in the United States Armed Forces from 1976 to 1979. Educational background includes training at Perpich & Associates Air Conditioning Academy and South Florida Technical Institute.
