Rita Wells is an experienced marketing and tourism professional with a diverse background in entertainment and partnership management. Currently serving as the Tourism Marketing Manager for the City of Pompano Beach since September 2022, Rita previously held several roles at Visit Lauderdale, including Partner Relations Manager and Marketing Communications Manager from July 2015 to September 2022. As Co-Owner and Managing Partner of Laffing Matterz from April 2002 to September 2018, Rita played a key role in establishing the venue as a renowned destination for dining and entertainment until its closure due to economic challenges. Earlier experience includes a self-managed position as Restaurant Marketing Coordinator at LTP Management and creative contributions as an Ensemble Cast Member at The Crystal Palace from 1989 to 2001. Rita Wells earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from the State University of New York at Fredonia between 1985 and 1989.
