Suzanne Smith

Suzanne Smith currently serves as General Manager of Community Development for the City of Port Moody, a position held since February 2025. Prior experience includes the role of Manager, Development - West for the City of Richmond from May 2018 to February 2025, as well as Planner 2 and Planner for Policy & Special Projects at the City of North Vancouver from 2012 to 2018 and 2003 to 2011, respectively. Key contributions encompass policy development, community engagement, and project coordination related to development regulations and sustainability initiatives. Noteworthy projects include the 100 Year Sustainability Vision and the Community Energy & Emissions Plan. Suzanne also participated in a secondment to the City Manager's Office on a Climate Action Task Force. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Geography from The University of British Columbia, along with a Certificate in Local Government Administration from Capilano University.
