Nakita Thomas

Nakita Thomas currently serves as the Equity Manager for the City of Portland, a position held since December 2017, where responsibilities include providing strategic guidance on equity initiatives and acting as the ADA/Title II and Civil Rights Title VI Coordinator. Previously, Nakita worked as an Emergency Communications Dispatch Supervisor and Dispatcher, managing emergency call operations and resource dispatching. Prior to this, Nakita held roles as a Scheduling Manager and Online ESL Instructor at Open English, along with experience as a Mad Scientist Instructor and Student Teacher. Educational background includes a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal & Civic Studies from Saint Mary's College of California.
