Susan M. is an accomplished policy and legislative director with extensive experience in advocating for small donor elections and women's health access. Currently serving as Director of Small Donor Elections for the City of Portland since June 2018, Susan previously held the position of State Legislative Director at Every Voice, where strategic legislative campaigns were developed across numerous states and cities. Prior roles include Legislative Director at the Progressive States Network, where Susan managed state policy and advocacy initiatives, and Policy Analyst at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, focusing on expanding women's health services. Additionally, as Deputy Director and Legislative Counsel for the Council of the District of Columbia, Susan played a key role in drafting and passing significant legislation such as the marriage equality bill. Susan holds a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and a B.A. in Philosophy from Sarah Lawrence College.
