Rene Carmichael serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the City of Poway since March 2016, focusing on enhancing outreach and communication through strategic public information programs and collaborations with city leadership. Previously, Rene held the position of Chapter Manager at PRSA San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter from 2004 to January 2018, managing administrative tasks for over 250 members. As the Principal at Carmichael Consulting from 2004 to 2017, expert consultation was provided on various projects, including customer surveys for Atkins North America, Inc. Additionally, Rene worked as a Media Specialist for the County of San Diego from February 1998 to October 2003, where public relations support was extended to multiple government entities. Earlier experience includes serving as the Public Information Officer for the American Red Cross, where major disaster communications were handled, and a brief stint as an Assistant Account Executive at Stock/Alper and Associates. Rene holds an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing and a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from San Diego State University.
