Dana Son is an experienced GIS professional currently serving as the GIS Coordinator for the City of Puyallup since February 2023. Prior to this role, Dana held several positions at the City of Kent, Washington, including GIS Solutions Architect, GIS Spatial Application Analyst, and GIS Analyst II from December 2017 to February 2023. Dana also worked as a Program Coordinator at the Institute of Technology - UW Tacoma from January 2015 to November 2017, overseeing student data, co-chairing a significant technology conference, managing internships, and handling admission processes. Earlier experience includes serving as the Administrative Coordinator/Student Services at KeyBank Professional Development Center - UW Tacoma, where Dana managed research data systems, supervised student employees, and oversaw financial processes. Dana holds a Master’s Degree in Geospatial Technologies and two Bachelor’s Degrees in Urban Studies/Affairs and Global Studies, all from the University of Washington Tacoma.

The City of Puyallup is situated at the foot of scenic Mount Rainier in the beautiful Puget Sound region 10 miles east of Tacoma and approximately 35 miles south of Seattle.
