Paul Gessner

Paul Gessner is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in law enforcement and legal practice. Currently serving as the Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Raleigh Municipal Government since June 2022, Paul has prior experience as an attorney at Cranfill Sumner LLP and at the Wake County Sheriff's Office. Paul served as a Superior Court Judge for the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts for nearly a decade, following a tenure as a District Court Judge. Earlier in the career, Paul worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Wake County District Attorney's Office, where prosecution of various criminal cases was a key focus. Paul began professional endeavors as a Police Officer with the Raleigh Police Department. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Campbell University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from NC Wesleyan College, complemented by an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice from Wake Technical Community College.
