Stephen C. Bentley

Stephen C. Bentley has extensive experience in parks, recreation, and cultural resource management, currently serving as the Director of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources since November 2016. Prior roles within the City of Raleigh Municipal Government include Assistant Director, Superintendent, Capital Improvement Program Manager, Senior Parks Planner, and Parks Planner, with a tenure spanning from December 2005 to August 2016. Bentley's background also includes managerial experience at Wake County from February 2000 to December 2005 and positions with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Park Service in 1998 and 1999. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Parks and Recreation Administration from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
