Makaela Thompson

Makaela Thompson currently serves as an Accounts Payable Specialist for the City of Redmond, Oregon, starting in November 2023, and also works as a Substitute Teacher for the High Desert Education Service District since September 2022. Previously, Makaela was an Advanced Mathematics Teacher at Bend-La Pine Schools from August 2021 to August 2023, where new courses were developed for a diverse student body. Additional experience includes roles as an Exam Proctor and Math Tutor at Central Oregon Community College, as well as caregiving positions at Chimps Inc. and the Center for Great Apes. Makaela holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Principia College, alongside continuing education in Psychology at Bellevue College.
