Desiree Galassi is an experienced professional with a diverse background in education, finance, and community engagement. Currently serving as a Preservation Commissioner for the City of Redondo Beach since October 2021, Desiree has previously held significant roles such as Finance and Personnel Director at International Tours Specialists, where administrative operations were improved to boost revenues from $3M to $11M. In the education sector, Desiree has worked as a World Language Educator and a Spanish Teacher, and has contributed to curriculum development and performance evaluation. Additionally, Desiree has been actively involved in community initiatives, including serving as a member of the Newtown Sustainable Energy Commission and as President of the Newtown International Center for Education Parent and Community Organization. Desiree holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from St. John's University and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Queens College.
