Michael Cook

Michael Cook has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Michael is currently the Head of Information Technology at the City of Redondo Beach since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Deputy Administrative Officer and Senior-most Information Technology Executive at the Santa Clara Valley Water District from 2018 to 2023. Michael also served as the Director of Customer Service & Information Security - Information Security Officer at San Jose State University from 2013 to 2018, where they played a major role in the IT turnaround of the campus. Additionally, Michael has experience as the Lead Information Technology Consultant at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2008 to 2013. Michael started their career as the Owner/Operator and Support Specialist at Gold Coast Computers from 1998 to 2008, where they provided a wide range of technology services to various clients.

Michael Cook has an MBA in IT Management and Information Security from California State University-Dominguez Hills. Michael also has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. In addition to their degrees, they obtained the ITIL Certified certification in 2015 and completed the Educause Management and Leadership Institute in 2016.
