Ray Iverson

Ray Iverson is an experienced fire service professional currently serving as Fire Chief for the City of Redwood City since June 2021. In addition to this role, Ray holds a position as Adjunct Faculty at City College of San Francisco and has served as President of the International Fire Service Foundation since September 2016, focusing on community resilience through innovative technology and education. Ray's previous roles include Fire Chief at the San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department, Deputy Fire Chief in both San Mateo and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Districts, and Fire Marshal for the City of Benicia. Ray’s educational background includes a Master of Public Administration and multiple degrees in fire science and administration from Columbia Southern University and other institutions.
