James Pehrson

Senior Civil Engineer at City of Reno

James Pehrson is a seasoned civil engineer with extensive experience in both compliance and construction inspection. Currently serving as a Senior Civil Engineer for the City of Reno since July 2016, Pehrson previously worked as a Compliance Officer for the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors from November 2010 to June 2016, where responsibilities included administering the Compliance Program and investigating complaints. Prior to that, Pehrson held positions as a Public Works Inspector for the City of Reno, conducting thousands of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan inspections, and as a Construction Inspector for the County of Orange. Pehrson began their career as a Soil Technician at NMG Geotechnical, performing compaction testing and utility line backfill inspections. Pehrson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hydrology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and an Associate of Arts degree in Fire Technology from Rio Hondo College.
