Kirsten Close is an accomplished leader in community recreation and wellness, currently serving as the Manager of Aquatics and Community Wellness for the City of Richmond since November 2014. In this role, Kirsten provides strategic direction to aquatics, seniors, and fitness teams, ensuring high-quality facility operations and program delivery that meets the diverse needs of the Richmond community. Prior to this, Kirsten held several key positions within the City of Vancouver, including Recreation Programmer and Special Events & Filming Coordinator, where responsibilities included developing recreation services, managing financial subsidy programs, and facilitating community events. With a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Leisure and Sport Management from The University of British Columbia, Kirsten's extensive experience spans project management, public engagement, and community collaboration, significantly contributing to the enhancement of recreational opportunities in urban settings.
