Sandra Chai is an experienced financial professional with a strong background in financial management and analysis, currently serving as the Manager of Financial System and Support at the City of Richmond since January 2016. Prior positions include Business Analyst for Strategic Development at Teekay Corporation from May 2007 to January 2016, and Treasury Services Supervisor at the City of Richmond from October 2005 to May 2007, where Sandra managed the City’s financing needs and investment portfolio valued at $300 million. Earlier experience includes working as a Senior Accountant and Hyperion System Administrator at Teck Resources Limited from April 2000 to October 2005, leading accounting efforts for consolidated financial reporting. Educational qualifications include a CPA, CGA designation and a Certificate in Strategic Management from the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from The University of British Columbia.
