Eric Kerska has over 30 years of work experience, primarily in the field of emergency services. Eric served as Fire Chief for the City of Rochester, MN since 2018, overseeing fire prevention, suppression, emergency medical services, and budget planning. Prior to this role, Eric was a Battalion Chief for the Rochester Fire Dept from 2009 to 2018, responsible for commanding fire fighting, emergency medical, and other emergency operations, as well as training and professional development of staff. Eric also served as the 34th Infantry Division Chief of Staff for the Minnesota National Guard from 2012 to 2015 and as an Army Officer for the Minnesota Army National Guard from 1985 to 2015.
