Joe Adams has extensive work experience in law enforcement. Joe began their career as a Patrol Officer with the City of Roseville in 2007 and transitioned into roles of increasing responsibility, including Police Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Deputy Chief. In their most recent role as Deputy Chief, Joe was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the police department and managing a $10 million budget. Joe also developed a new vision of policing and built the department's Community Action Team. Additionally, Joe has experience as a Street Crimes Investigator, where they initiated and led cases related to human trafficking and worked with state and federal officials to bring national attention to the issue. Joe also served as a SWAT Commander for East Metro SWAT/Ramsey County SWAT.
Joe Adams earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Public Safety and Law Enforcement Leadership from the University of St. Thomas in 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from St. Cloud State University in 2006. In October 2020, Joe obtained the Trilogy Award certification from FBI-LEEDA.
