Rob Nichol

Fire Chief / Director Of Sjemo at City of Saint John

Rob Nichol currently serves as Fire Chief and Director of the Saint John Emergency Management Organization (SJEMO) for the City of Saint John since January 2024. Prior to this role, Rob held the position of Deputy Fire Chief at the City of Saint John Fire Department from December 2019 to January 2024, and served as Division Chief of Training from February 2017 to December 2019. Additional experience includes an Administrative Officer role from November 2014 to February 2017, during which responsibilities encompassed procurement, budgeting, and strategic planning. Rob began a career in firefighting in December 1997, dedicating 17 years to the City of Saint John. Academically, Rob Nichol obtained a Master of Industrial Relations with a focus on Human Resource Management and Labour Relations from Queen's University between May 2021 and November 2023, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Psychology from Mount Allison University, earned in 1997.
