Grant Ellis is a seasoned natural resources manager with extensive experience in conservation and land management. Currently serving as the Natural Resources Manager for the City of San Antonio's Parks and Recreation Department since November 2011, Ellis oversees the Edwards Aquifer Protection Program, manages 13 Natural Area parks, and leads teams responsible for over 100 miles of trail maintenance. Previously, as the Special Projects Manager for the Edwards Aquifer Protection Program, Ellis managed a $90 million budget and a conservation easement program protecting over 130,000 acres. Prior roles include Executive Director at The Valley Land Fund, directing stewardship of 10,000 acres in the Rio Grande Valley, and Land Conservation Manager at Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas, where over 20,000 acres were conserved. Ellis also worked at the American Bird Conservancy in conservation advocacy. Educational qualifications include a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and a B.A. in History from Trinity University.
