Joe Conger

Joe Conger is an accomplished public relations and communications professional with extensive experience in media and government. Currently serving as Public Relations Manager and Sr. Public Information Officer for the City of San Antonio since May 2019, Joe supports communication initiatives related to public works and infrastructure. Previous roles include Data Journalist/Producer at News 4 San Antonio/Fox 29 TV, where Joe developed stories and data visualizations, and Strategic Communications Consultant in a self-employed capacity. Joe also held the position of Public Relations Manager for CHRISTUS Health, managing media relations for multiple hospitals, and served as an Investigative Reporter at KENS-TV, producing Emmy-winning broadcasts. With a foundation in broadcasting from Southern Methodist University, Joe's career began in 1990 as an anchor/reporter at WJXT-TV, and then as a 5 o'clock anchor at KCBD-TV.
