Soraya Ahmadyar

Soraya Ahmadyar, MPA, currently serves as a Senior Analyst for the City of San José, where responsibilities include workforce development analysis and overseeing various projects. Prior experience includes roles as Chief Financial Officer at East Bay Collision, where financial reporting and tax compliance were primary duties, and Director of Development at The American University of Afghanistan, notable for securing a significant grant for campus construction. Soraya has held leadership positions such as President of the Children of Afghanistan Hope Project, focusing on educational initiatives, and Executive Director of AmCham Afghanistan, where organizational growth and strategic planning were key tasks. Earlier career roles involved tax auditing at the Board of Equalization and volunteer tax preparation with the IRS. Soraya holds a Master of Public Administration from California State University - East Bay and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Cal State East Bay.
