Michael Millar

Michael Millar, DMA, ACC, is a distinguished professional with over 30 years of experience in the creative industries, higher education, and community engagement. Currently serving as Lecturer Emeritus in Music Industry Studies at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona since 2020, Millar previously directed the Center for Community Engagement, overseeing operations and budgeting. Furthermore, Millar is an ICF Certified Professional Coach and Consultant, and has contributed significantly as an Arts Commissioner for the City of Santa Clarita, holding various leadership roles since 2009. In addition to work in education and community service, Millar is an accomplished bass trombone artist, performing with notable musicians and groups, and has held positions with organizations such as Conn-Selmer, Inc., Arts Council of Kern, and Southwest Chamber Music. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Drucker School of Management, a Master’s in Music Performance from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Colorado Boulder.
