Carina Alvarado is an experienced professional in the field of waste management and recycling, currently serving on the Recycling/Zero Waste Team at the City of Santa Monica since January 2023. Previous roles include Zero Waste Manager at ABM Industries, where Carina managed client accounts, developed tailored solutions, and successfully led a city violation case, as well as Recycling Coordinator/Project Manager at Tri-Ced Community Recycling, overseeing a large volume of accounts and creating effective management plans. Earlier experience includes auditing and outreach work at Recology and a role as Zero Waste Coordinator/Intern at San Francisco Unified School District, focusing on education and partnership building. Carina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a focus on Sustainable Resource Management from California State University - East Bay.
