Rob Kliewer has extensive work experience in health, safety, and environmental management systems. Rob currently holds the position of Director, Health and Safety at the City of Saskatoon since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Saskatchewan in various roles including Manager of Safety Resources, Manager of Emergency Planning, Client Service Specialist, Coordinator of Health, Safety & Environmental Management System, and Consultant of Health, Safety & Environmental Management System. Before joining the University of Saskatchewan, they worked as a Chemical Safety Technician at Weyerhaeuser, Prince Albert Pulp and Paper.

Rob Kliewer has a diverse education history. In 1993, they began studying Chemical Technology at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology, and completed their studies in 1995. Rob then pursued 4th Class Power Engineering at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 1999. In 2010, Rob attended the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology again, this time focusing on Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Rob Kliewer has obtained two certifications as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) from the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals. Rob achieved this certification in June 2012.
