Carliss E. Bates

Executive Director, Keep Savannah Beautiful at City of Savannah

Carliss E. Bates has held various roles in the City of Savannah since 1998. They began as a Public Information Assistant, where they worked from April 1998 to May 2011. After that, they served as the Citizen Engagement Coordinator from February 2010 to March 2015. From March 2015 to December 2017, they worked as the Administrator for Community Relations & Internships. Their most recent position was as the Executive Director of Keep Savannah Beautiful, starting in January 2018. In addition to their work with the City of Savannah, Carliss also served as the Youth Council Coordinator for the City of Savannah Youth Council from 2009 to 2010.

Carliss E. Bates obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration from Savannah State University from 1997 to 1999.
