Ryan Sorenson has a diverse work experience. Ryan started as a Campaign Intern for Senator Russ Feingold in 2010. In 2013, they worked as a Real Property Listing Associate for Sheboygan County, and also started their involvement in student government as the Student Body Vice President at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Ryan then served as the Student Body President at the university from 2014 to 2015, representing over 28,000 students and managing a $205,000 operating budget. Ryan continued their involvement in student governance as the Chair of UW System Student Representatives from 2015 to 2016, where they facilitated meetings with student leaders, organized conferences, and advocated for student interests. From 2016 to 2017, Ryan worked as an Administrative Assistant and Compliance Coordinator at Kohler Co. Ryan then joined Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County as a Community Engagement Coordinator from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, Ryan worked at Aflac as a Small Business Development employee from 2020 to 2021. Lastly, they served as the 59th Mayor of Sheboygan City, starting in April 2021 and currently holds the position.

Ryan Sorenson earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, completing their studies from 2012 to 2016. Afterwards, they continued their education at the same institution, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
