Edward Bean

Edward Bean has extensive experience in municipal finance and management, currently serving as the Finance Director and City Auditor for the City of Somerville since April 2000. In this role, Edward Bean oversees all financial operations, including assessing, auditing, treasury, collection, purchasing, and grant writing. Previously, Edward Bean was the Director of the Employment Assistance Services Program at the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance, contributing to welfare reform through program development. Edward Bean's career with the City of Somerville began in 1980, encompassing roles such as Personnel Director and Administrative Assistant to the Mayor. Edward Bean holds an M.B.A. in Business Administration and Management, along with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Tufts University, and additional qualifications in Finance.
