Lorenzo Camargo, EIT, is an Associate Engineer at the City of South Gate since February 2019, where responsibilities include project management for various initiatives, grant acquisition, and proposal development. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant Engineer involved in plan checking for street improvements and managing NPDES and Industrial waste programs. Earlier roles include an Environmental Laboratory Analyst at Envirocheck, Inc., focusing on compliance testing for hazardous materials and exposure risk analysis, as well as research assistant positions at California State University-Long Beach and Southern California Coastal Water Research Project, where research on benthic macroinvertebrate communities and data management using GIS tools was conducted. Lorenzo holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from California State University, Fullerton, a Bachelor's degree in Biology from California State University, Long Beach, and two Associate of Arts degrees from Cerritos College in Microbiology and Natural Sciences.
