Wes Brodhead has extensive experience in public service and transit management, currently serving as a City Councillor for the City of St. Albert since October 2010. Previously, Brodhead held the position of Director of Bus Operations for the City of Edmonton from October 1977 to April 2013, where responsibilities included managing public transit operations across multiple divisions with an annual budget of $110 million and overseeing approximately 1,700 employees. In addition, Brodhead served as the President of the Prairie Provinces and Territories Chapter of the Canadian Urban Transit Association from April 2006 to April 2010, representing public transit interests in several provinces and territories. Furthermore, Brodhead was elected as the President of the City of Edmonton Management Association from June 1998 to June 2002, leading an association of over 800 management staff.
