Matthew van der Zalm is an experienced firefighter currently serving with the City of St. Catharines since January 2023. Prior to this role, Matthew worked as a firefighter with Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire & Emergency Services from March 2016 to May 2023. Additionally, Matthew held various positions with the Town of Niagara on the Lake, including Program Administrator, Administrative Assistant, Customer Service Representative, and Senior Parks Labourer (Seasonal) between May 2016 and January 2023. Matthew also gained retail experience as a Sales Associate at Bass Pro Shops from November 2018 to May 2019. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Brock University, completed in 2019.
