Larry Gunderson has a diverse range of work experience in the field of information technology. Larry has held various roles in multiple organizations throughout their career. Larry started as a Systems Analyst at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) in 1991, where they provided contract support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 Office. Larry then joined the City of Naperville in 1993, initially as a GIS Analyst and later as the GIS Manager, overseeing the implementation of an enterprise GIS system. In 2006, Larry became the Information Technology Department Team Leader at the City of Naperville, where they directed the implementation of various technology solutions and developed a Citywide Strategic Technology Plan. Larry later served as the Chief Information Officer of the City of Naperville from 2010 to 2013, where they managed a team of technology professionals and a significant budget. Larry's experience also includes working as the IT Support and Consulting Practice Leader at ClientFirst Consulting Group, LLC from 2014 to 2015 and as the Director of Information Technology at RJN Group from February 2015 to June 2015. Currently, Larry Gunderson is the Director of Information Systems at the City of St. Charles, Illinois, where they lead a team of technology professionals and oversees the organization's information technology operations.
Larry Gunderson has a Master of Science (M.S) degree in Management Information Systems from North Central College. Larry also holds a Post Master's Certificate in Governance, Risk Management & Compliance from DePaul University, as well as a Certificate in Information Systems Project Management from the same institution. Larry'sundergraduate education was at Western Illinois University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Industrial Education. Additionally, Larry has obtained the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in November 2017.
