Larry Umphrey currently serves as the Parks Superintendent for the City of St. Louis Park since April 2024. Prior to this role, Larry Umphrey had a long tenure with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, where positions included Director of Aquatics, Athletics, Golf, and Ice Arenas, and Director of Recreation Centers and Programs, overseeing significant operational and strategic leadership across the urban park system. Earlier in career, Larry Umphrey worked as Program Supervisor for ISD 191 Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District. Educational qualifications include a BS in Foundations of Education from the University of Minnesota, along with a College of Continuing Education degree in Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies.
