Andy McCurdy has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Andy most recently worked as the Deputy Police Chief and EOC Manager at the City of Sumner, Washington, where they served as the commander of Patrol, Investigations, School Safety, and Peer Support. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant and Educator at SARGE Training and Consulting, helping others develop their skills. Andy also has experience as the Director and Coach at Badges and Barbells Weightlifting and Mentoring Clubs/Camp Possible.

Andy McCurdy has a diverse education history. Andy holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Learning and Technology from Western Governors University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Management, also from Western Governors University. Before pursuing higher education, Andy attended California State University - East Bay, where they studied Criminal Justice. Andy also completed the Corrections Academy & POST Supervisor Certification program at Santa Rosa Junior College, specializing in Criminal Justice and Corrections. Additionally, they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from Highline College. In terms of certifications, Andy has obtained various professional credentials. Andy is a certified Community Resiliency Model (CRM) Teacher from the Trauma Resource Institute and has completed the 21st Century Police Leadership program at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. Additionally, they completed the Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement (ABLE) Train the Trainer course at Georgetown University and the Executive Leadership Institute at FBI-LEEDA. Andy also holds certifications in Emergency Management Professional Development from FEMA, Law Enforcement Executive Career Level from the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission, and Leadership in Police Organizations from the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Andy is certified as a Police Training Officer Academy and First Level Law Enforcement Supervisor by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. In addition, they hold certifications in sports performance and coaching from USA Weightlifting. Andy received their Washington State Police Officer Certification from the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission and their California POST Supervisor, Modified Peace Officer, and Corrections Officer Certifications from Santa Rosa Junior College.
