Courtney Thomas serves as the Director of External Affairs and Special Projects for the City of Tallahassee since November 2019. Previously, Courtney held the position of Adjunct Professor at Florida State University for a brief period in early 2022. Roles in public service include Legislative Assistant at the Florida Dental Association, Constituent Services Representative for the U.S. House of Representatives under Congressman Al Lawson and Congresswoman Gwen Graham, Political Director for the Al Lawson for Congress Campaign, and other positions within the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the Florida Democratic Party. Educational qualifications include a Master's of Science in Applied American Politics and Policy and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Florida State University, along with an Associate of Arts from Tallahassee Community College.
