Cate Wells

Cate Wells is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in municipal law. Currently serving as Deputy City Attorney and Chief Assistant City Attorney for the City of Tampa since September 2019, Cate previously held the position of Senior Assistant City Attorney within the same office. Prior to that, Cate was a Shareholder at Trenam Law and spent over a decade as a Partner at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP. Early career experience includes roles as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Tampa and Lead Prosecuting Attorney & Executive Director at the Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Cate Wells earned a Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame.
