Ian Morgan

Chief Chemist at City of Thunder Bay

Ian Morgan, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in various industries. Ian is currently serving as a Council Member - Region 14 at the Association of the Chemical Profession of Ontario (ACPO), a position they have held since 2022. Prior to that, Ian worked as the Chief Chemist for the City of Thunder Bay starting in 2019. Ian also served as the Department Head of Science & Technology at Yellowhead Tribal College from August 2018 to August 2019, and as a Faculty Member - Science Professor from September 2016 to September 2018.

Ian Morgan, Ph.D., began their education in 2003 at Lakehead University, where they pursued a double major bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Biology. After completing their undergraduate studies in 2007, they went on to attend the University of Guelph. There, between 2007 and 2012, they earned their Ph.D. in Inorganic and Organic Chemistry. Following this, from 2012 to 2015, they undertook a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Jyväskylä.
