Victor Mercado

Victor Mercado serves as the Communications and Policy Advisor to Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, focusing on the Mayor's policy agenda and promoting Tucson as a sustainable, economically vibrant city. With extensive experience in various leadership roles, Mercado has contributed to the University of Arizona as Co-Chair of the Hispanic Advisory Council and has provided creative direction in student affairs. As a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona and Child & Family Resources, Mercado has championed efforts to support youth and strengthen communities. Previous roles include Principal at ILLUME Advising, LLC, Founder of Southwest Design Labs, Director of Public Information for the Sunnyside Unified School District, and Women's Business Center Director at YWCA Southern Arizona. Mercado holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, both from Northern Arizona University.
